Choosing between a 60-minute and a 90-minute massage is mostly a question of priorities and pace. The extra half hour creates more room in the session, but a longer appointment is not automatically necessary. Start with what you want covered, how much focused attention you want, and what fits comfortably into your day.
When a 60-minute massage may fit
A 60-minute appointment can suit someone who has a clear goal and prefers a manageable block of time. You might want an overall session with one main area of emphasis, or more concentrated attention within a smaller set of areas. Discuss the plan at the start so the time goes toward what matters most.
The important question is whether your expectations fit the available time. If your list includes detailed work on your neck, shoulders, back, legs, feet, and hands, ask your therapist to help you narrow it down. A focused plan can feel more satisfying than expecting every area to receive equal attention.
What the additional 30 minutes allows
A 90-minute massage gives the session more flexibility. It may suit you if you enjoy an unhurried pace or want a full body massage with extra time for selected areas. That extra space is particularly useful when you do not want one priority to crowd out the rest of the session.
More time does not have to mean more pressure. You can request a longer, gentler session. Likewise, a shorter appointment can include focused work if that is appropriate for your needs. Duration and technique are separate choices.
Use this simple planning exercise
Before booking, complete these three sentences:
- “The most important area or goal for me is…”
- “If there is enough time, I would also like…”
- “I would like the pace to feel…”
For example, “My shoulders are the priority, my feet are a bonus, and I prefer a slow pace” gives your therapist a useful starting point. Compare that with “I would like a general session and have no specific focus.” Both are valid requests, but they may lead to different recommendations.
Where shorter and longer options fit
M.M.M. Serenity offers appointments ranging from 30 to 120 minutes. A 30-minute back session calls for a focused request rather than full body coverage. A 120-minute appointment offers more time, but consider whether you enjoy being on the table that long before choosing it solely because it is available.
See the massage pricing page for the current choices and rates. Check the booking details before confirming your appointment, and ask how much time to allow for the entire visit if you have another commitment afterward.
Your first appointment can guide the next one
You do not need to find a permanent routine immediately. After your visit, think about whether the pace felt comfortable and whether an important area needed more attention. That feedback is more useful than following someone else’s preferred appointment length.
Choose 60 minutes for a clear, manageable plan. Consider 90 minutes for more room around that plan. Your preferences and the therapist’s guidance should shape the final choice.
